Crystal Lake Cemetery
Stanstead,
Stanstead County, Quebec
Location: From the North end of town, take Fairfax Road less than half a mile. The cemetery cannot be missed as it is a huge sprawling cemetery with three entrances on the left. Behind the cemetery can be seen Crystal Lake.
The cemetery has been used since the first settlers arrived here in the early 1800s. The oldest stones date from the 1830s but there are probably many in unmarked graves. It is a beautiful cemetery, well looked after, with 3 access roads and many lanes througout.
It is maintained by the Crystal Lake Cemetery Company and is open until November 1st each year. For further information about this cemetery, you may contact Calvin Belknap (819-876-5450 or Lloyd Bishop (819-876-5172). If you wish to make a donation, please send contributions to Brian Curtis, 2250 Curtis Road, Stanstead, Quebec, J0B 3E0.
A complete walkthrough of all legible and existing headstones was done by Leslie, Susan, and Jason Nutbrown (September & October 2004).
