One Room Schools in Alberta - Photos
|
![]() This is a family photo of what appears to be a school house. The family lived in Garden Plains near Scappa, Alberta. We believe it may be the school house in Garden Plains. (SD 2941) The family surname was Beyer. I do not have any other information about this picture but thought someone in Alberta might identify it. If you have anyone who might recognize this building I would appreciate it. Submitted by Bev Thon |
new!![]() Heres a couple of photo's I took last Christmas Eve of the old school house in South Wapiti / Alberta. SW is is an old (very small and obscure) community south of Grande Prairie that's still populated mostly by families of the original pioneers. I believe it was - if not the last - one of the very last one room school houses to close. I and I believe my little brother Dale were in the last class to attend here.
