Don Sucha August 21, 1997 Surnames: Davis, Bailey, McKenzie I am researching the life of Daniel "Peach" Davis who was a North West Mounted Police officer. Davis joined the force in 1876 and distinguished himself by singlehandedly escorting 1100 Souix, Cree and Assinabione people from the Cyprus hills area to the Battleford area. Davis died in Calgary in 1937. Although he married into my family, I would like to trace his life more than the obvious stories. I am looking for direct descendants and anyone who has personal stories or letters that I could listen to or read. If any of the Bailey clan are reading this, I am William Charles Bailey's grandson.

Update: Looking for relatives or descendants of Mae McKenzie (nee Davis). The last record I have is Calgary, 1940. She was (is?) the grand daughter of Daniel "Peach" Davis and Eliza Davis (nee Bailey). Purpose pf search is genealogical and historical.

Bob Mittelstadt August 21, 1997 Surnames: Frey FREY, Frank, born Dodge County, Wisconsin, 24 Aug 1881, died in or around Calgary, Alberta 05 Sep 1974. Would like an obituary from a local paper, if possible. Do not know wife's maiden name, or wedding date. Frank is a brother to my grandmother, Delia. He left home as a young adult, and very little was heard from him after that.

Children: Charles b. unknown in England Maud Ethel b. 29 Jan 1898 Islington, Middlesex, England Victor Moore b. 26 Mar 1900 possibly in Calgary, Alberta, Canada or in England William Alexander b. 5 Jul 1902 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Thomas William b. 11 Aug 1904 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This family came to Canada at the turn of the century around 1900. I would appreciate any information that you could give me on this family, especially spouses and descendants. I would especially like to know what happened to Thomas William. In addition, the tradition in the family states that Mary Smits left the family shortly after they came to Canada with Thomas but no one knows where they went. Also Charles senior had two brothers living in Canada that stayed there. They were Reggie and Guy BATES. They were both born in England but I have been unable to determine where. I would like to know when they came to Canada, when they married, and if they had children. Lastly, I would like Reggie's and Guy's birth information. Thanks so much.

G Christian Larsen October 23, 1997 Surnames: Justason I am gathering and compiling information on the Justason family from Pennfield, N.B. I am looking for any information on John Justason who is said to have settled in Calgary, Alberta. John is said to have married a Miss Robinson. They are said to have had at least one child, Harry Justason. Any information would be appreciated and welcomed.

Joan Hodgkin March 4, 1998 Surnames: Hodgkin Am looking for information on Mark Hodgkin born in England 1865, died Calgary 1922 after living in Vancouver, B.C. from 1920 to 1922. Went to Guelph in 1873, Calgary in 1891. He worked on the Calgary Herald and later went to Okotoks, about 1901 where he started the Okotoks Review later going into partnership with W.E. McLeod. Wife Jessie. Children Alfred, Marion, Chester, Frank and Fred. Would like any information I can get on Mark Hodgkin or others in family, particularly Alfred. Got this much info from a book "Our Foothills". In 1908 Mark and his brother Bert each filed on a homestead in KEW district. Could use help on where to go from here.
